Song The
Decemberists - Leslie
Anne Levine
Comments LOVE
the accordion riff!
Classic! This REALLY
brings me back to Spring
2009, wow. The lyrics
are deeply personal to
him. You can rock back
and forth to this ship
beat lol. LOL the "15
years" line is SO
CATCHY.

Song Good
Charlotte - Broken
Hearts Parade
Comments The
one thing about Good
Charlotte is that they
have fun. And are
usually very catchy.
This one furthers their
path towards
gothy/synthy pop punk
they wanted to get at.
The chorus is a lot of
fun- complete with a
triangle- no less- in
the background!! Always
fun and catchy, this is
an early spring
charmer.

Song Submersed
- Hollow
Comments This
is one of those really
really dark hard rock
songs from the 2005/2006
era in concerts that
remained in my head
years after lol. The
chorus is huge, they
have a knact for it.
Very close to metal.
They have plenty of
octane in the guitars. I
love the bridge guitar.
Very metal there! They
are seriously good, a
little dark, but very
melodic.

Song 311
- Hey You
Comments Scary
guitar in this- in the
prechorus. They double
up on the chorus- Nick
and the other guy! They
usually don't do that.
This one doesn't have an
instantly catchy chorus
as many of their others
and is somehow more
restrained, but the
drive and guitar are
amazing underneath. This
one has A LOT of
atmosphere and
mysticism. More of a
"listener" than their
others, but it's still
undeniably 311 and it is
still fun to listen to.

Song Coldplay
- Yellow
Comments Holy
shitbags this is an
ancient song. I think at
the time this was first
played, nobody down here
yet begun to realize
this band's power and
what they would become
in concerts afterwards.
In hearing this song,
the band has come such a
long way. They really
took off after this
song. In many ways, this
song is more heartfelt
because its raw
Coldplay. Its old, raw
Coldplay. The melodies
are absolutely
beautiful

Song American
Hi-Fi - I'm A Fool
Comments That
standard rock chord
progression of A to G or
D to A (whatever it is)
will never go away. His
vocals are full of
chewing gum. Another
band that fuses raw
production with a hell
of a lot of fun. They
actually really started
that trend way back in
2001/2002. That geeky,
raw and catchy rock
song. This one is right
up there, especially
with that guitar riff.

Song Over
It - Gunslinger (Running
Out of Time)
Comments I'm
liking their sound so
far. Sounds a little
like Keane. But his
voice is different, it
sounds familiar. Catchy
verses lead to a very
melodic chorus. Good
guitar and drums WOW. I
like the higher octave
chorus late. Power
drumming and guitar in
this. I like them so
far!

Song Pepper
- Things That You Love
Comments I
thought this was Sublime
until I looked at the
band name!!! It's
strikingly similar. This
guy kind of sounds like
Freddy Fender LOL. The
underpining ska chords
are warm. I don't 100%
understand what the song
is about, but it's quite
relaxing and chilled.
This one's more of a
coming home from the
beach song instead of a
lie on the beach song,
but the ambers are still
burning in this one.

Song Sevendust
- Trust
Comments One
thing's for sure:
Sevendust is VERY
melodic, VERY
approachable form of
alternative metal.
Closer to metal, but his
voice is direct and
clear. The riff rocks
ass. The chorus is huge
and sweeping and his
vocals just grab you.
The hook has a ton of
beef in it. Alot of
people overlooked them
as some black guy trying
to be all metal. But you
know what? they were
damn good. They did have
sort of a cult
underground following.
He's got a great
powerful voice

- Live Again
Comments While
this one isn't as
psychologically and
psychedelically crushing
as Trust, it has their
charm. Who knew that guy
at the Brown game would
get such love LOL. This
is SO FUNNY actually.
This one is more
subdued, but the chorus
rings as darkly melodic,
like Trust. They have a
very unique sound and
this one displays that
as much as any of their
others.

Summer Obsession - Never
Coming Back
Comments I
like how he says "gots"
LOL! OMG the chorus. Its
unbelievably catchy lol.
They sound as nerdy as
Simple Plan lol. This is
an old classic. I like
the band name alot. This
chorus DOESN'T get old

Song Sum
41 - Some Say
Comments OMG
this is an oldie. Sum 41
usually don't get this
"slow" but they make it
work. The hooks are
there. He actually has a
pretty scratchy voice,
not unlike American
Hi-Fi, etc. Sum 41
really gets a bad rap
and got lowballed, but
they have a lot of fun
material. This one's
slower (perhaps looking
for a crossover hit) but
still has oodles of
hooks.

Song Lowgold
- We Don't Have Much
Time
Comments LOL
this band name! He's got
a good voice. Reminds me
of Idlewild a bit. The
chorus is sweeping. The
guitar is brighter late,
I like the lyrics, very
timeless. I can see how
this was played in 2010.
I like the "sad chords"
on the chorus.

Song American
Hi-Fi - The Geeks Get
The Girls
Comments This
one is their obligatory
"ironic" song, with the
song title and lyrics
and such. They were
destined to write a song
like this. The chorus is
undeniably fun and
harmless and the guitar
compliments it nicely.
This is about as playful
of a song as you can get
but it is also hella
catchy.

- One I Love [b-side]
Comments Holy
shit another oldie but
goodie. They are better
live at times. Moses is
perfection. This one
ain't too far behind.
Holy crap the guitar in
this is durgy and
special! I love the
simplicity of the vocals
and lyrics in this.

Kart - Me and Jesus
Comments This
guy might have the most
chewing gum voice yet
LOL. I don't know if I
love the chorus lyrics,
just because it says
Jesus. However, it is
also inCREDIBLY catchy!!
These guys are, pardon
the pun, STELLAR. They
have a wealth of very
catchy and solid
material they have
provided in concerts.
Their hooks are reliable
and don't get old. The
guitar is similarly raw
and chugging. This is
one of their best IMO.

Coast - The End
Comments LOL
this band name still
rocks. Holy shit the
vocals on the verses are
friggin catchy as hell.
I love the sound in
this, its like retro.
This is a great choice
for a band to make a
comeback because I
forgot about them and
now I hear them and get
a second listening. I
like her

Eye Blind - If There
Ever Was A Time (new
b-side)
Comments The
slick guitar riff
reminds me of the RHCP
song on BSSM and also U2
a little bit. Some werid
sounds in this song fade
in at times and fuzzed
out bass. I think
immediately I like it
better than most of
their stuff on Ursa-
it's more cohesive and
catchy. Though I don't
know when this came out,
it's an exciting sound
for them cause it
actually breaks out of
the mold of OOTV and
Ursa nicely.

- Careful Where You
Stand
Comments This
immediately is grabbing
with the acoustic and
distant vocals. This
song would do quite well
in summer or even Fall.
I don't recognize the
song name. Some of the
best and powerful vocals
I've heard from Chris
are right in this song.
This is as powerful and
moving a song as we've
heard in 2012.

huge in that area. One

Dandy Warhols - You Were
the Last High
Comments This
is like an indie Duncan
Sheik lol. Sounds like
"On A High". The way
this transitions into
the chorus is special,
it like grows. The "you
were the last" line is
incredible! The lyrics
are fairly specific lol.
There's a loneliness to
the music in this song.
It's like distant.
Beachy even. The beat is
damn good

Fire - The Suburbs
Comments VERY
catchy and creative
format to the chorus.
This has some
indie/indie pop in it.
This has a good bop to
it. His voice is shaky
at times lol but it
fits. LOL funny song
name. The chorus is the
best part of the song,
but the bridge is quite
good.

- That's No Way To Get
To Heaven
Comments Immediately,
the vocals are
melodious. The funny
thing is, the acoustic
guitar is NOT lo fi.
It's produced. The
vocals are superior. The
tragic part is it is so
short, but while it
plays, it's magic gold.
I remember you played a
lot of them I think last
year and/or 2010.

California One Youth and
Beauty Brigade
Comments Wow
his vocals are great! It
was an honor to hear
them alot tonight. They
are special and they did
come in last February
too, with help of the
new album. That was very
memorable. The verses in
this are well-written
and feed off the last
one. The accordions
remind me of overseas
places. The bridge is
pretty magical
WOW.....this song is
like a spring
countryside. This was an
exceptional pick as a
final song tonight, they
really fit tonight. This
was a treat!
