Song Blur - She's So High
Comments This is actually a SUPREME Fall song. The snare drum is rocking, sounds like it DOESN'T have all those clothes in it LOL. Nice little ringing riff is often overlooked but its great. The repeated "she's so high"s are dreamy. THe snare changes on the bridge, its definitely jazzy. This was and still is one of the most accessible jazz/dreamscapes of a song that they do, and that we know down here. Pretty damn good for a Sunday afternoon too.

Song Saliva - Badass
Comments There was a Saliva song in the movie I watched last night. Click Click Boom! It's about time he had a song title like this LMAO. Fits perfectly with the lyrics and heavy guitar. Is this new? Sounds new. The production is better. The guitar riff in the chorus sounds similar to Musta Been Wrong's. Their customary sad bridge pops up again in this. Of course, he's probably NOT really a badass in real life but in this song he sounds convincing.

Song Keane - Is It Any Wonder?
Comments I LOVE this melody in this song, its car and shower-ready! Its cool how it goes up and down. This was on bradboard in 2006 and I remember seeing it ranked very high in songs of the year. I didn't know this song was that old, I thought this was way newer. Always a great spin.

Song Marvelous 3 - Make Up
Comments Pretty fun guitar in this song- the whole feel is upbeat. The chorus guitar effect was smartly stolen from Sweet Child of Mine. A lot of self-depricating lyrics in this song, but it's sung playfully and sardonically enough to be fun. Pretty sweet sound in this.

Song Throw Me the Statue - About to Walk
Comments Here's another song with a great melody and it hammers it home throughout. The lyrics are kind of strange and randomized LOL but they rhyme well. LOL "laying in my western bed", awesome funny hook! This was a great one back in the day, really goofy song lol. LOL good drumming aty the end during the megaphone lol

Song Amely - Now Or Never
Comments Is this Amy? LOL. This is in that pop-punk genre, with Simple Plan, NFG, Fall Out Boy, etc. Half emo/half punk. Funny chorus, playful lyrics. This song goes by FAST, you have to key in on the hooks. Huge sound in such a compact length.

Song The Bravery - Time Won't Let Me Go
Comments His voice wales sometimes lol. But come the chorus it usually gets it done. This one is very Killers-like. Good tamborine on the prechorus. lol the bah bah bahs sort of seem out of place but that's the bridge. Excellent and upbeat percussion. His voice sounds way delayed like the Killers. You cannot deny the great driving beat in this.

Song All Time Low - A Party Song
Comments His vocals in this sound like NFG. "I make you come just to watch you leave" LMAO! A lot of football cheering in this, sounds like a pep rally LOL! The whole sound is bright and fun, you can't help but like that aspect.

Song Blur - M.O.R.
Comments Wow that's one of the neatest riffs I've heard from them...its almost like a computer! This almost goes good ole 90's Green Day with the huge hi-hats on the verse. The chorus is kind of spacey and shoegazey. They once again show that they are a very unpredictable band, able to throw anything at the listener. GOD the DRUMMING is HUGE! It's great! What does MOR stand for? LOL

Song Run Kid Run - One In A Million
Comments It's straight edge emo right away LOL. Crunchy guitar chords in this. The chorus is catchy, in a punk way in that the SOUND is catchier than any one vocal part. Nice acoustic guitar on the bridge. Kind of reminded me of Mae a little bit, vocally. Upbeat song.

Song Throw Me the Statue - Your Girlfriend's Car
Comments I definitely remember this song LOL. The organ is AWESOME! I totally forgot about that. This reminded me of pavement a little. This is jazz-indie. They kind of stop the vocals near the end LOL and it kind of goes further into the intruments. Great classic

Song Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Comments Right away, look at their ultra-bookish smarty pants song title LMAO. Their music carries that same nerdiness. It's nervous sounding and timidly anxious and quick. The band name is BEYOND funny. No real structure in this song as it glides through punk, indie rock, casio discoy beats, and quicky vocals. LMAO!!!! The part near the bridge where he whispers!!!! A lot of humor and funniness in this band. Glad we're finally hearing from them.

Song Hurricane #1 - Step Into My World
Comments Here's an OLD OLD beginning of the year classic. Wasn't this at the beginning of 2009? I forget. He's awfully universal in this song LOL in a very Oasis way. Kind of reminds me of Oasis musically. Has a little Beatles in it too. "Don't live in the same world" good hook.

Song Fight Fair - California Kicks
Comments This intro is a Hendriken van full of teenagers going to the prom LMAO. This has a lot of background peppy yelling. The vocals are thicker than the usual pop punk, much like Lit's. Nice keyboards in the backgrounds at parts and the lyrics are flat out Beach Boyish, scaled down to a younger audience. Very youthful themes and sound in this. Reminds you of the beach.

Song Beach House - Apple Orchard
Comments This band certainly creates a soundscape, something very coastal and oceanic. They are more out there than Radiohead, but almost in the same realm of creativity. Good bassdrum beat. The guitar is dubbed. This could be good on a car ride AFTER going ot the beach.

Song Less Than Jake - Overrated
Comments I believe you have played from these guys before, could be wrong. They were huge in the 90s. They are in the same vein as Goldfinger. The lyrics are blaming boredom for his issues LOL. Overall, one of the more put together efforts.

Song Oasis - Cigarettes & Alcohol
Comments VERY memorable riff, its sort of classic rock-ish. This is almost stableford Oasis this song. Its bigger than life. Bigger than rock guitars. Vocally its on par with the main guy (god why can't I remember his name lol). THis is NOT one of their best melodically, but it's way up there with their rocky songs. I remember this one big time. Great power riff

Song Allstar Weekend - Bend Or Break
Comments This was played in the Debut! I believe this is the first repeat play of the year on either side. The stomping kids in the intro is interesting- a little weird- but fun. There are bits and pieces of very catchy parts, buy comes together a little more the more you listen to it. The clapping synth beat sounds like it's out of T Pain's workbook, but they work it into a rock beat in this. This guys WANTS to put the world on his shoulders and have them follow him to Disney World. It's very produced, very shiny and tight. Since you've replayed this one, I'm assuming your heart is more into this one for your plan this year and it's not a bad choice.

Song Best Coast - The End
Comments OMG the verses are WICKED catchy, her vocals are very strong, even though she sounds like she's in a cave. This has Fleet Fox moments on the bridge. This was their best song so far

Song The Click Five - Jenny
Comments Nice snake riff in the intro. LOL this band name. This is like a Jeremy Camp without religious lyrics- that midtempo rock ballad. Solidly catchy and good production. It's not going to drop an elephant dump on your lap, but it's cool it doesn't try to reinvent the whell and is upfront and catchy.

Song Ash - Goldfinger
Comments This is a little more alt version of Pavement. It maintains very indie rough guitars and drumming. The quite parts are funny how he sings, again, kind of in that sarcastic/funny way that Pavement does. Very catchy chorus, and gets highly rockable late.

Song Allstar Weekend - Journey To The End Of My Life
Comments The chorus in this is pretty darn catchy, especially hearing it again today. The snotty, punky manerisms are here in the vocals, but it's a hell of a lot more fun in this context. He's going solo in this one, but trying to cheer himself up.

Song Symposium - The End
Comments This has one hell of a beefy riff, and then quickly drops into almost Britpop on the verses, or actually sounds like post-hardcore. The chorus has a good hook to it. There's something dark about this song. Maybe that comes from the Texas Is The Reason sound to it. Its a little damp. But the guitar EXCELS. Especially the main riff and the un-distorted one later.

Song MxPx - Bass So Low
Comments Without question, the most breathable effort, production-wise, on your side today. Right away, it's open. Really top notch chorus here, it's fun and not emo-ish...it's great! I liked this one a lot!

Song Radiohead - Just
Comments Holy shitbombs. OMG! THE VERSES ARE SO SCARY. Just how I remembered them. This song on the verses for some reason reminds me of "Your Father's Eyes" on Amy Grant - The Collection. LOL. The bridge is even colder on the guitar. You never forget their songs, they are seascapes.

Song All Time Low - Keep The Change, You Filthy Animal
Comments I swear this is Jordan from NFG. Excellent chorus here- I think THINK you played this one last in the Debut. He seems perturbed at someone LOL. I think the vocal hook on the chorus REALLY helps this one. It's a sunny hook.

Song Kings of Convenience - Surprise Ice
Comments Wow this was a huge surprise! I was hoping to hear them back in December. I think this song brought a nice end to today's concert. There hasn't been too much acoustics yet in 2012! His voice is very unique. All I can say is that your side has been hella full of surprises this year so far, it's been wild!!!!!!!!
